This Privacy Policy describes how Clothella ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Shopify application ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Merchant Information
When you install the App, Shopify provides us with basic store information required for the App to function, including your store domain and access tokens. This information is stored securely and used solely for authentication and providing the App's services.
Customer Information
We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable customer information. The virtual try-on feature processes images anonymously. Customer photos are not linked to any customer account, email address, or other identifying information.
Images
The App processes and temporarily stores the following types of images:
- User photos — images uploaded or captured by customers for the try-on experience
- Product images — clothing product images from your store
- Generated images — AI-generated try-on result images
All images are stored in secure cloud storage and are not publicly accessible. Images are associated with the merchant's store, not with individual customers.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information exclusively to:
- Provide the virtual try-on functionality
- Manage your subscription and usage billing through Shopify
- Improve the quality of the App's services
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Processing
To generate virtual try-on images, customer photos and product images are sent to a third-party AI processing service. This service processes images in real-time and does not retain them after processing is complete. The AI service receives only the images necessary for generation — no customer identifiers or personal data are transmitted.
4. Data Retention
- Try-on images are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Merchant data (store settings, usage records) is retained while the App is installed.
- Upon uninstall, all merchant data and associated images are permanently deleted. This process is triggered automatically through Shopify's webhook system.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud storage with access controls
- Shopify's built-in authentication and session management
6. GDPR Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and support Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:
- Customer data request — Since we do not store any customer-identifiable data, no personal data can be returned in response to a data request.
- Customer data erasure — Since customer images are anonymous and not linked to any customer account, no customer-specific data exists to erase.
- Shop data erasure — When a merchant requests data erasure or uninstalls the App, all associated data (database records and stored images) is permanently deleted.
7. Merchant Rights
As a merchant using our App, you have the right to:
- Access information about what data we store related to your store
- Request deletion of all your data at any time
- Uninstall the App, which triggers automatic deletion of all your data
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of any material changes through the App or via the email associated with their Shopify account. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
