This Privacy Policy describes how Clothella ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Shopify application ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Merchant information

When you install the App, Shopify provides the store information required for the App to function, including your store domain and access tokens. This is used solely to authenticate your store and provide the App's services.

Shopper information

We do not collect shopper names, email addresses, or contact details. To let shoppers revisit their own try-on history, each try-on is associated with a shopper identifier:

• Logged-in shoppers — the try-on is linked to the shopper's Shopify customer ID so it appears in their personal try-on gallery when they return.
• Guest shoppers — the try-on is linked to an anonymous random identifier stored in the shopper's browser. It is not connected to any account or personal details.

Images

The App processes and temporarily stores three types of images:

• Shopper photos — uploaded or captured for the try-on
• Product images — clothing images from the store
• Generated images — the AI-generated try-on result

Images are kept in secure, private cloud storage and are never publicly listed. They are served only through access-controlled links scoped to the shopper who created them.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect only to:

• Provide the virtual try-on feature and each shopper's personal try-on gallery
• Enforce per-shopper usage limits set by the merchant
• Manage the merchant's subscription and usage billing through Shopify

We do not sell, rent, or share data with third parties for marketing or advertising.

3. Third-Party AI Processing

To generate a try-on image, the shopper photo and product image are sent to a third-party AI image-generation service. Only the images needed to produce the result are sent — no shopper names, emails, or account details are transmitted.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

• Try-on images are visible to the shopper for a limited period that depends on the merchant's active plan, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted from our storage.
• Shoppers can delete individual try-ons, or all of their try-ons, at any time from the in-app gallery.
• Merchant data (store settings and usage records) is retained while the App is installed.
• When the App is uninstalled, the merchant's data and associated images are permanently deleted.

5. Data Security

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS / TLS)
• Private cloud storage with access controls
• Shopify's built-in authentication and session management

6. GDPR & Shopify Privacy Webhooks

We support Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• Customer data request — logged-in shoppers can access their own try-on images directly through the in-app gallery.
• Customer data erasure — when a customer erasure request is received, the associated try-on images and identifiers for that shopper are permanently deleted.
• Shop data erasure — when a merchant uninstalls or requests erasure, all associated data and images are permanently deleted.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
